It is the end of January, usually a time of despair for some Tottenham Hotspur fans. There are normally mass protests aimed at Daniel Levy for not making any major purchases during the winter transfer window along with calls for the current manager to be sacked a – general doom and gloom.
This winter I believe things are very different at White Hart Lane. We have qualified for the final of the League Cup, and a trip to Wembley to repeat out 2008 victory over Chelsea is just a few weeks away. We are in the Round of 32 in the Europa League with a couple of really good games against Fiorenta to look forward to and we are only 2 points adrift of Arsenal in the premier League.
Our recent 5-3 win over Chelsea in the Premiership should have been just what the Pochettino doubters needed to be won over to his cause, but it wasn’t for some. OK, some people would be annoyed if the won a red Ferrari in a raffle because they wanted a blue one. I am totally happy with the progression we are making under Mauriccio and hope that Mr. Levy gives him the time he will need to build a team that we can be even more proud of, plus he might need a few quid to buy some players, but not in January, that is a bad time to be doing major transfer business.
There are still a couple of days left to go in the transfer window and Danny may surprise us, but I don’t think we actually need anyone, of course it would be nice to get someone like Kevin Morallis but we won’t get relegated if we don’t get any star buys done in this window.
The future is bright, the future is Lillywhite – COYS!
